DIAMOND DEFENCE · YOUR FIRST STEP

Shooting for beginners

Interested in learning to shoot but unsure where to start? Find your way to a first supervised experience and a training path that fits your background.

STEP BY STEP

  1. Your interestsWhat would you like to explore?
  2. Your experienceWhich starting point fits you?
  3. Your dateClarify the offer, equipment and venue.

01

Start with your interests

A suitable introduction offers supervision, clear explanations and time for questions. You do not have to choose a discipline immediately or own equipment already. What matters is matching the format to your previous experience.

Think about what you want to explore: a first impression, a structured introduction to pistol training or an overview of different firearm platforms. This helps us discuss a practical next step.

02

An experience or a training course?

Supervised trial shooting lets you explore shooting and selected models in an agreed setting. An introductory course follows defined learning goals. At Diamond Defence, Pistol Intro is the entry point to the pistol training pathway.

If rifles interest you, Rifle/AR15 Basic 1 is your starting point with no prior experience required. You do not need previous shooting training. Higher course levels retain their own prerequisites.

03

Before your first appointment

Read the participation requirements for the actual offer. Check the equipment you need to bring and the services included. Ask before booking if something is unclear or you need loan equipment.

Plan your journey around the published date. Swiss venues are in Birmensdorf, Urdorf and Hünenberg; your selected date identifies the actual location. After an initial supervised session, you can discuss which further pathway suits your interests.

Questions before you start

Can I start without previous experience?

Pistol Intro and Rifle/AR15 Basic 1 welcome beginners with no prior experience. An agreed supervised trial session is another option. Always check the requirements for the individual offer.

Do I have to choose pistol or rifle straight away?

No. You can first discuss your interests with us. Choosing a discipline and choosing an appropriate course level are separate decisions.

Where can I find a specific beginner course?

Our beginner course overview compares Pistol Intro, the route into rifle training and trial shooting, then links to published courses.
